My expertise / skills : We are interested in anthropogenic gradients both in forests and in grasslands. Our skills include species distribution modelling and plant community modelling, and we are presently increasing our experience in dendrochronology. We are also exploring above and belowground diversity, by using metagenomic tools.
The Azores are a good model to study anthropogenic change, including climate change effects, since we have plant communities with different levels of management intensity located in close proximity.

We are presently ending a Biodiversa Project (BIOINVENT).

Disciplines
I am working on :
Conservation Biology
Ecology
Landscape ecology
Plant Sciences
Keywords : azores, climate, forests, grasslands, dendrochronology, soil metagenomics, anthropogenic change, ecological modelling, plant community modelling, numerical ecology
Project description : We would participate in projects adressing links between climate change and the future management of grasslands and/or forests, along gradients of management intensity. Links with the duality between native and alien species would also be of interest.
Networking opportunities : Only in 2020.
I will be in Germany (Stuttgart) for a BIOINVENT project meeting from 8 to 13 of Spetember 2019.
