My expertise / skills : I hold a Ph.D. in Sociology (with a focus on public policies and urban management) from the Federal University of Paraná in Curitiba, Brazil.
I am currently a visiting professor of Theories of Public Administration, and Public Policy at the Government School of the Municipal Institute of Public Administration (IMAP) of Curitiba-PR; professor of Sociology, and Anthropology at Bagozzi College, in addition of being a sporadic peer reviewer for academic journals, and writing material for distance learning courses. The last training material I wrote was about the joint/cooperative implementation and monitoring of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals in a region composed of 54 municipalities of the state of Paraná, Brazil. Another one was about the internationalization of cities, which was the empirical research subject of my doctoral dissertation, drawn on the neo-institutionalism theoretical framework.
I am also a researcher at the Research Group of Sociology and Social Policies, and Urban and Regional Development Extension Program - PDUR (UFPR); researcher at the Nucleus of Studies on Policies, Technologies, and Management - NEPTG (from the graduate program in Urban Management – PUC-PR). Presently my researches include state capacities, governance, and urban and regional sustainable development, as well as the internationalization of cities and regions.

the partner(s) should work on :
Political sciences
Sociology of the Environment
Spatial planning and urban development
Keywords : sustainable development, governance, sustainability, local & regional development, sdgs, agenda 2030, development policies
Project description : Sustainable Development, A Cooperative Achievement: How EU Regions Are Organizing Themselves For Sustainable Development Governance. The main objective of this research is to analyze the political processes, the dynamics of cooperation between the different agents participating in the institutional arrangements that support local and regional sustainable development activities concerning the UN 2030 Agenda. This research can be carried out in a comparative approach (with a region in Brazil, which includes 54 municipalities of the West region of the state of Paraná).
The implementation of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda is a good strategy for addressing environmental problems, as it encompasses people, local, regional, national and global communities, as well as wellbeing and sustainability.

It is expected to deepen our understanding of analytical and practical interrelationships of local and regional sustainable development and governance; to have a good understanding on what extent the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development can contribute to the local and regional sustainable development, especially those subject of our cases studies, and if these particular experiences can be turned model to replicate in other areas in Latin America; and to assist practitioners and researchers with a robust theoretical-analytical framework to innovate in practices and in planning regional and local sustainable development based on best practices.
Networking opportunities : I will attend the conference 'Innovation networks in regional development - The role of entrepreneurs, universities, municipalities and NGOs' on 29-30th November 2019
at Corvinus University of Budapest.
