a partner (for my project)
Tebita Consulting Engineers PLC (TCE) is an Ethiopia-based private engineering and applied research organisation working at the interface of water resources, climate and environmental resilience, watershed and ecosystem restoration, Nature-Based Solutions (NbS), GIS/remote sensing and hydrological assessment.
TCE has expertise in hydrological and watershed assessment, groundwater studies and monitoring, GIS/EO-based spatial analysis, water-resources planning, field investigations, environmental assessment, stakeholder engagement and translation of scientific evidence into practical basin-management applications.
For Water4All 2026, TCE is developing RECHARGE-RESILIENCE, focusing on experimentally attributing the effects of nature-based recharge and retention interventions, understanding groundwater–surface-water connectivity, propagating intervention effects from local to river-basin scales, and assessing how abstraction, water use and management conditions influence effectiveness and transferability.
TCE is particularly interested in partnering with European and African research organizations with complementary expertise in hydrogeology, groundwater–surface-water interaction, integrated modelling, sociohydrology, monitoring, Nature-Based Solutions and transferability.
Topic 1. Integrated Monitoring and Assessment for Sustainable Water Management
Topic 2. Nature-Based Approaches for Resilient Water Management at Hydrological and Hydrogeological System Scale
Topic 4. Resilient Water Systems Through Systemic Change, Policy Coherence and Inclusive Governance
Recharge-Resilience-Nature-based Recharge and Retention for Resilient Groundwater-River Systems
Aims to strengthen the scientific basis for nature-based recharge and retention as tools for resilient groundwater–river-basin management. The project will combine field experimentation, hydrogeological and hydrological monitoring, groundwater–surface-water connectivity assessment, integrated modelling, sociohydrology and decision support.
The research will investigate whether changes in infiltration, recharge, groundwater storage and surface-water response can be attributed to nature-based interventions; how effects propagate from intervention and groundwater scales to sub-basin and river-basin scales; and how abstraction, water demand and management conditions influence their effectiveness and persistence.
An Ethiopian demonstration system within the Lake Tana–Abbay basin will provide the main field research environment, supported by international comparative perspectives. TCE seeks partners with expertise in groundwater recharge and hydrogeology, groundwater–surface-water interaction, integrated modelling, sociohydrology, water-use dynamics, uncertainty analysis and transferability.
Partners may contribute research capacity, monitoring/modelling expertise, comparative African systems, or methodological advances. TCE will contribute applied research, field implementation, GIS/EO, monitoring, stakeholder engagement and links with Ethiopian basin-management practice.

TCE is actively seeking discussions with potential Water4All 2026 consortium partners during the 2026–2027 proposal-development period. We welcome online meetings to discuss scientific complementarity, work-package roles, national funding eligibility, consortium composition and potential demonstration sites in Ethiopia.
TCE can provide a short concept note, preliminary research framework and proposed Ethiopian field-research architecture upon request.
