My expertise covers hydrology, water resources management, environmental hydraulics, soil–water interactions, and agricultural water management, combining field monitoring, numerical modelling, Earth Observation (EO), GIS, and data-driven approaches.
My research includes hydrological and hydraulic modelling, surface water–groundwater interactions, soil hydraulics, irrigation and drainage, flood and drought assessment, and climate-change impacts on water resources. I have extensive experience in designing and implementing pilot catchments and monitoring networks, coordinating field and soil-sampling campaigns, developing harmonised sampling and QA/QC protocols, and integrating in-situ observations with EO and geospatial data for model/product validation.
I am currently involved in European collaborative research (as PI) focusing on water and soil monitoring, environmental data harmonisation, EO integration, analysis-ready datasets, pilot-scale validation, and stakeholder engagement.

I am interested in joining a Water4All consortium addressing challenges related to water resilience, climate-change adaptation, integrated water resources management, agricultural water management, water–soil interactions, and digitalisation of water systems.
I am particularly interested in projects combining scientific and technological development with real-world implementation, field monitoring and pilot-scale demonstration. My research team can contribute to hydrological and hydraulic modelling, field and soil monitoring, design and implementation of monitoring networks, soil–water interactions, Earth Observation and GIS applications, data integration and harmonisation, and validation of models and innovative water-management solutions.
Through the Laboratory of Hydraulic Works and Environmental Management of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), we can provide scientific expertise, field-monitoring capabilities and access to suitable study areas and pilot catchments in Greece.
I am open to joining either an existing consortium seeking complementary expertise or a consortium currently being formed, particularly where our expertise can support the transition from research and methodological development to field implementation, validation and demonstration.
