I am a permanent professor in the Doctoral Program in Legal Science at UNIVALI, with expertise in International and Environmental Law, as well as in water resources regulation. My main line of research focuses on aquifers and groundwater, covering topics such as governance, legal protection, sustainability, and transboundary management of water resources. I coordinated the More4water Project in Brazil, approved under the Water4all transnational call in 2022.

Topic 4. Resilient Water Systems Through Systemic Change, Policy Coherence and Inclusive Governance
I am interested in joining a project under the Water4All 2026 transnational call, under Topics 2 or 4. My research objective is the Amazon Aquifer, which has transboundary reach and holds the largest freshwater reserve on the planet. It remains still little studied and lacks a structured regulatory regime, which exposes it to risks such as unregulated exploitation, contamination, and the effects of climate change on recharge processes. My research could act on two axes: under Topic 2, strengthening the aquifer's sustainability through the understanding of its hydrogeological dynamics and recharge processes; under Topic 4, providing for its governance, with normative instruments and coherent public policies, from a transboundary perspective and with the inclusive participation of stakeholders, ensuring legal protection and long-term sustainability. As a permanent professor in the Doctoral Program in Legal Science at UNIVALI and a postdoctoral researcher, with expertise in International and Environmental Law and in water resources regulation, I coordinated the More4water project in Brazil, approved under the Water4All 2022 call, with experience in international consortia, specifically addressing the Guarani Aquifer, also a transboundary aquifer located in Brazil. I seek to join a project that brings together hydrogeological and governance competencies, contributing the legal dimension to the protection and sustainable management of the Amazon Aquifer.
