FOREST DATA E.E. is a Greek environmental and forestry SME specializing in forestry, environmental and hydrological assessment, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Earth Observation (EO) and spatial planning. Its expertise includes forest mapping and inventory, land-use and land-cover assessment, vegetation and ecosystem monitoring, environmental impact assessment, biodiversity, green infrastructure and nature-based solutions. The multidisciplinary team combines forestry, environmental and agricultural sciences with ecology, GIS, remote sensing and spatial data processing, integrating field-based knowledge with geospatial information to deliver practical assessments, environmental indicators and decision-support outputs. The company is also developing FORESTEEO – Forest Earth Observation Environmental Intelligence Service, integrating Copernicus EO data, GIS and environmental indicators for vegetation monitoring, land-use change detection, automated reporting and WebGIS visualization. FOREST DATA also has direct experience in hydrological assessment, having carried out the hydrological investigation within the framework of a Master Plan, assessing hydrological conditions and their interactions with land use, terrain and the wider environmental setting to support integrated spatial and environmental planning.
Topic 1. Integrated Monitoring and Assessment for Sustainable Water Management
Topic 2. Nature-Based Approaches for Resilient Water Management at Hydrological and Hydrogeological System Scale
For Water4All, FOREST DATA can apply its forestry, environmental, GIS and Earth Observation expertise to the land–vegetation–soil–water interface at landscape and catchment scale, contributing to both Topic 1 – Integrated Monitoring and Assessment for Sustainable Water Management and Topic 2 – Nature-Based Approaches for Resilient Water Management. The company can integrate EO and GIS information with hydrological, meteorological and field data to assess interactions between vegetation condition, land-use change, environmental pressures and water-related processes. Its contribution can include mapping vulnerable areas, developing spatial environmental indicators, monitoring vegetation and landscape change, and field validation of remotely sensed data. FOREST DATA can also support the planning and monitoring of nature-based solutions, including forest and ecosystem restoration, riparian vegetation, ecological corridors and green infrastructure, using GIS and EO to identify priority areas, monitor interventions and support catchment resilience, water retention and sustainable water management.
