Our research group at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) specialises in intelligent monitoring, soft and hybrid sensors, data-driven modelling, machine learning and adaptive process control for water and wastewater treatment.
We can contribute laboratory and pilot-scale experimental facilities, including our IntelMEM container-based membrane treatment platform, for developing and validating monitoring, optimisation and control strategies under varying water quality and operating conditions.
We work closely with DOSCON AS (https://doscon.no), a Norwegian technology company specialising in intelligent process control and digital solutions for water and wastewater treatment.
Topic 3. Smart, Secure and Adaptive Water Infrastructures for Sustainable Water Management
We are interested in joining a multidisciplinary consortium developing intelligent monitoring and adaptive process-control solutions to improve the efficiency, reliability and resilience of existing water infrastructure. We can contribute expertise in sensing, process modelling, experimental validation and intelligent control, with potential applications in both drinking water and wastewater treatment.

Our research group at NMBU, led by Prof. Harsha Ratnaweera, established and coordinates the Water Harmony Network, connecting researchers and institutions internationally in the field of water and wastewater management. Through this network, we can facilitate international collaboration, knowledge exchange and the development of multidisciplinary research partnerships.
