a project to join
We are the Center for Sustainability Studies (FGVces) at Fundação Getulio Vargas, a leading Brazilian business school. We are dedicated to advancing knowledge through applied research, capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and the development of methodologies and tools to support decision-making in the public and private sectors.

We have extensive experience in sustainable water management, water risks, corporate water stewardship, water efficiency, and water reuse, particularly in the context of climate change. Our work combines scientific and methodological approaches with organisational, institutional, and governance perspectives. We are particularly interested in understanding how water-related information, risks, and impacts can be incorporated into public policies and decision-making processes.

We can contribute to transdisciplinary projects by connecting scientific knowledge with public policy, business practices, and stakeholder perspectives. In particular, we can contribute to the analysis of governance arrangements, institutional and regulatory barriers, policy coherence, stakeholder engagement, socio-economic dimensions, and pathways for the uptake of sustainable water-management practices. We also have experience translating technical assessments into practical recommendations, decision-support approaches, guidelines, and knowledge products for policymakers, companies, and other stakeholders.
Topic 4. Resilient Water Systems Through Systemic Change, Policy Coherence and Inclusive Governance
We are interested in joining international consortia as a research and knowledge partner, particularly in projects addressing systemic approaches to sustainable water management, water governance, policy coherence, water risks, and stakeholder engagement.

We can contribute expertise in socio-economic and governance research, stakeholder engagement, co-design and transdisciplinary research, knowledge transfer, and dissemination, for example through: analysing governance and institutional arrangements for sustainable water management; assessing policy and regulatory frameworks and policy coherence across sectors and governance levels;
conducting stakeholder mapping, engagement, and participatory research; assessing water-related risks, impacts, trade-offs, and dependencies in the context of climate change; developing decision-support frameworks for resilient water management; co-developing strategies and pathways towards adaptive and resilient water systems, water efficiency, and sustainable water use; and developing recommendations and guidelines to support the uptake and scaling of project results.

Additionally, we can bring Brazilian case studies and perspectives, as well as comparative research involving different institutional, socio-economic, and hydrological contexts. We are also interested in contributing to research connecting experiences from Brazil and Latin America with European and other international contexts.
