Human–environment geography, climate adaptation and resilient livelihoods, with a focus on sustainable water management, environmental risk, territorial resilience and inclusive governance. My expertise includes participatory and stakeholder-based approaches, interdisciplinary research, and the application of quantitative and qualitative research methods and data analysis to assess vulnerability, adaptive capacity, resilience and local responses to environmental and climate challenges. I have experience with stakeholder engagement, co-creation, Delphi and multi-criteria methods, GIS and spatial analysis, statistical analysis, and translating research findings into practical strategies for territorial planning and adaptation.
I am currently involved in the Interreg Sudoe RELIGHT (2021–2027) project as a member of the University of Coimbra team, with responsibility for the methodology component, including stakeholder engagement, participatory assessment, co-creation and the development of actionable strategies for sustainable and resilient territories. My research also includes the development of a Climate-Resilient Livelihoods Index for rural territories in Central Portugal, integrating climate risks, livelihood systems, vulnerability and adaptive capacity.
