a project to join
I am a geographer and postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Geoanthropology (Germany), working on coupled human–water systems, water governance, and socio-hydrological dynamics. I combine hydrological modelling with agent-based modelling (ABM) to study how water users and institutions respond to changing hydrological conditions, and how their decisions reshape water systems.

My expertise includes:
• Coupled human–water and socio-hydrological modelling
• Agent-based modelling of water users and institutions
• River-basin water allocation and governance
• Institutional adaptation, coordination, and policy implementation
• Human responses to floods, droughts, and water scarcity
• Climate adaptation and water-system resilience
• Long-term and historical perspectives on human–water interactions

I can contribute expertise in modelling human decision-making, institutional dynamics, feedbacks, trade-offs, and adaptation, and in linking social and institutional processes with hydrological models. I am particularly interested in projects addressing river-basin management, water allocation, climate adaptation, flood/drought resilience, groundwater governance, or stakeholder dynamics.
Topic 1. Integrated Monitoring and Assessment for Sustainable Water Management
Topic 2. Nature-Based Approaches for Resilient Water Management at Hydrological and Hydrogeological System Scale
Topic 3. Smart, Secure and Adaptive Water Infrastructures for Sustainable Water Management
Topic 4. Resilient Water Systems Through Systemic Change, Policy Coherence and Inclusive Governance
Looking to join an emerging consortium as a research partner, particularly projects combining hydrological modelling with human behaviour, institutional dynamics, water governance, climate adaptation, or river-basin resilience. I can contribute agent-based modelling, coupled human–water systems modelling, institutional analysis, and scenario-based assessment of adaptation and water-management strategies.
