My field of expertise is management of freshwater ecosystems including water quality monitoring and assessing ecological sustainability of rivers, wetlands and lakes. Currently, I am coordinating a multi-country project titled "Strengthening higher education for sustainable, innovative and equitable water resource management" funded by Water Development Partnership Project, IHE, Netherlands. I am also currently involved in EU funded (SHE-CREEDS) project on intra-Africa mobility. Among my several publication, highly relevant to this project call is titled as "Effect of agriculture on surface water quantity and quality in Gilgel Gibe watershed, southwestern Ethiopia". Moreover, I have excellent project management, research and teaching skills in the area of water-food-energy nexus, assessment of human disturbance on freshwater ecosystems.

Topic 1. Integrated Monitoring and Assessment for Sustainable Water Management

Although freshwater ecosystems are found in a very limited quantity in the world, they are continuously degraded as a result of human activity, putting their sustainability under high risk. Therefore, I would like to collaborate with experts in this field to conserve and ensure the sustainability of these vital natural resources for current and future generations
