In the Hydrology Department at NIBIO, we are currently developing strategic research initiatives for the next five years focusing on climate adaptation planning, socio-hydrological modelling, climate services and explainable AI (XAI)-based decision-support tools for catchment-scale water management. These activities include the development of collaborative research proposals in Norway and across Europe on (i) integrated ex-ante assessment frameworks for climate adaptation planning, (ii) climate-adaptive water management and (iii) AI-supported implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive.

We are therefore interested in joining consortia working in similar directions, particularly where our expertise in hydrological and socio-hydrological modelling, catchment-scale water management, indicator-based assessment, climate adaptation planning and the science-policy-practice interface can contribute to the development of innovative and interdisciplinary approaches.
