a project to join
GIS developer and geospatial data specialist with 15+ years' experience (since 2010) in remote sensing, GIS and water/environmental monitoring, currently at the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA), Norway. Expertise spans satellite- and drone-based (UAV, licensed A1/A3 pilot) monitoring, GeoAI/machine-learning image classification, geospatial database design (PostGIS, Oracle Spatial), and building WebGIS platforms, dashboards, digital twins and survey tools (ArcGIS Enterprise/Online, GeoServer/GeoNode, Django, Python). Background includes hydrological monitoring systems built for India's Central Water Commission (flood forecasting, river-gauge and telemetry networks, water-quality module) and, more recently, coastal/marine water and habitat monitoring and ecosystem accounting for Norwegian and EU projects (SeaBee drone infrastructure, Marine Naturekart seabed-habitat mapping, DigiPEA/EOCEAN ecosystem accounting, BlueConnect ).
Topic 1. Integrated Monitoring and Assessment for Sustainable Water Management
Topic 3. Smart, Secure and Adaptive Water Infrastructures for Sustainable Water Management
I am a GIS/geospatial-data developer at NIVA (Norway) with a 15+ year track record spanning water-resource, hydrological and marine monitoring, and I am looking to join a Water4All project as the technical/GIS partner. I can contribute: (1) geospatial data engineering and geodatabase design (PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, GeoNode/GeoServer); (2) satellite- and drone-based (UAV) observation, GeoAI/machine-learning image analysis for water-quality, habitat or infrastructure monitoring; (3) design and development of WebGIS platforms, interactive dashboards, StoryMaps and digital-twin components (ArcGIS Enterprise/Online, Django, Python); and (4) support for policy-relevant reporting (e.g. Water Framework Directive, ecosystem accounting/SEEA). My experience ranges from hydrological-station networks and flood-forecasting systems built for India's Central Water Commission to current NIVA/EU projects on coastal and marine water monitoring, ecosystem accounting and a Digital Twin work package. I am particularly interested in consortia needing robust monitoring data pipelines, remote-sensing/AI-based observation methods, or smart/adaptive water-infrastructure components, and am open to contributing across the monitoring, digital-infrastructure and governance/reporting dimensions of a project
