a project to join
I am an Assistant Professor in Robotics and AI at Aston University, UK. My expertise spans AI-enabled robotics, computer vision, digital twins, robot learning, intelligent control, and human-robot collaboration. I develop systems that combine perception, learning and human guidance to perform inspection and manipulation tasks in uncertain industrial and hazardous environments.

My work includes multimodal perception, learning from demonstration, reinforcement learning, sim-to-real transfer, haptic teleoperation, and mixed-reality interfaces. I have experience integrating sensing, simulation and robotic hardware, and collaborating with industrial partners to develop and validate research demonstrators. I am a Co-Investigator on the Horizon Europe REBELION project, leading robotics and automation activities for battery disassembly.

For Water4All, I can contribute these capabilities to robot-assisted inspection, intelligent monitoring, and digital-twin-supported assessment of water infrastructure, working alongside water-sector specialists and end users.
Topic 1. Integrated Monitoring and Assessment for Sustainable Water Management
Topic 3. Smart, Secure and Adaptive Water Infrastructures for Sustainable Water Management
I am seeking a Water4All 2026 project to join as a research partner through Aston University, primarily under Topic 3 and, where relevant, Topic 1.

I am interested in applying AI-enabled robotics, computer vision and digital twins to improve the monitoring, reliability and maintenance of water infrastructure. Potential contributions include robot-assisted inspection of difficult-to-access assets, image- and sensor-based defect detection, integration of inspection data with digital twins, and human-supervised robotic operation. These capabilities could support earlier identification of deterioration, better maintenance decisions and reduced water losses.

I would welcome contact from coordinators developing proposals with water researchers, infrastructure operators and other eligible partners who can provide domain expertise, operational data and validation sites. I can contribute to proposal development and lead a technical work package on robotics, perception or digital twins, with the scope shaped around the consortium's water-management objectives.
