Ph.D. in Geography from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), with a sandwich doctoral period at the University of Algarve (Portugal), Master's in Geography from UFSC, and Bachelor's from the State University of Maranhão (UEMA). She is currently an Adjunct Professor II at the State University of the Tocantina Region of Maranhão (UEMASUL), a permanent professor in the PPGCIAMB and PPG-BIONORTE graduate programs, and a UEMASUL Research Productivity Fellow. She leads the Water, Sanitation, and Health Research Group (GPASS/CNPq), coordinates the Eastern Amazon Observatory (OAO) and the FAPEMA-funded project "Sustainable Future: Adapting Water Resources in the Municipalities of the Tocantina Region of Maranhão to Climate Change", and is a member of IHGI and the Participatory Mapping Observatory. Her expertise in Geography focuses on Physical Geography, Cartography, and Health Geography, with an emphasis on watershed management, surface water quality, environmental sanitation, epidemiology of sanitation-related diseases, and riverine landscapes.

This research project focuses on the study of transition river basins located at the ecotone between the Amazon and Cerrado biomes within the Eastern Amazon, with a specific emphasis on the Tocantins River Basin, a vital yet historically understudied hydrographic region. By integrating hydrogeography, land-use dynamics, and environmental health parameters, the project aims to evaluate how climate variability and anthropogenic pressures impact water resources and ecosystem services in this socio-ecologically complex transition zone.
