Topic 2. Nature-Based Approaches for Resilient Water Management at Hydrological and Hydrogeological System Scale
Dr Xing is interested in developing next-generation, AI-enabled nature-positive water management solutions that integrate digital twins, IoT monitoring, biodiversity enhancement, and community wellbeing. The research will explore how smart blue-green infrastructure and nature-based solutions can improve water resilience, groundwater recharge, ecosystem health, climate adaptation, and human wellbeing while supporting evidence-based decision making through real-time environmental monitoring and digital platforms. Living Labs and E-Statistical Observatories will be used to co-create, monitor and evaluate solutions with communities, local authorities, water utilities and other stakeholders.
