Freshwater ecology, ecological monitoring and assessment, eutrophication, phytoplankton ecology, microplastic pollution and ecotoxicology. I have experience in field sampling and ecological assessment of lakes and reservoirs, interpretation of biological and water-quality data, and evaluation of multiple environmental pressures on freshwater ecosystems. My recent work includes studies on microplastic contamination and ecological risk in freshwater systems, microplastic exposure in freshwater fish, and the effects of climate and nutrient enrichment on shallow-lake ecosystems. I am particularly interested in integrated monitoring, ecosystem resilience, restoration-oriented assessment and nature-based approaches for sustainable water management.

I am interested in joining a Water4All 2026 project focused on the sustainable monitoring, management and restoration of freshwater ecosystems. I am particularly interested in projects addressing eutrophication, climate-related pressures, ecological status assessment, ecosystem resilience and nature-based approaches. I can contribute expertise in lake and reservoir monitoring, phytoplankton ecology, water-quality and ecological assessment, microplastic pollution and ecotoxicology, as well as field sampling, data interpretation and restoration-oriented evaluation. I am also interested in contributing freshwater case-study sites and environmental data from Türkiye to comparative or demonstration activities.
