a partner (for my project)
Researcher with expertise in circular economy, water and wastewater treatment, agro-industrial waste valorization, renewable energy, and sustainable bioprocesses. His work focuses on developing and validating innovative technologies for the integrated management of water, organic residues, nutrients, and energy, with applications in agriculture and agro-industrial systems. He has experience in biomethane production, nutrient recovery, biofertilizers, biomass valorization, laboratory analytical methods, and technology development from laboratory to pilot scale (TRL 4–7). He coordinates multidisciplinary research activities involving academia, industry, and technology transfer.
Keywords: Water and wastewater treatment; Circular economy; Resource and nutrient recovery; Agro-industrial residues; Renewable energy; Biofertilizers; Sustainable bioprocesses; Technology development.
Relevant activities/projects: Development of integrated circular bioeconomy platforms for the conversion of agro-industrial residues into recovered water, renewable energy, biofertilizers, and value-added products, including projects involving pig manure, vinasse, biomass, and other agricultural residues. Experience with HPLC, GC, bioreactors, and analytical validation of environmental and agricultural products.
Topic 1. Integrated Monitoring and Assessment for Sustainable Water Management
Topic 2. Nature-Based Approaches for Resilient Water Management at Hydrological and Hydrogeological System Scale
We are developing an international research project focused on an integrated circular water management platform for agro-industrial and rural systems. The project will combine wastewater treatment and safe water reuse with the recovery of nutrients and energy from organic residues, producing reclaimed water, biofertilizers, recovered nutrients and renewable energy. The project will integrate water quality monitoring, contaminant assessment, treatment optimization, resource recovery and pilot-scale validation, with emphasis on agricultural applications, environmental safety and circular economy. The objective is to demonstrate an integrated approach in which water, nutrients, organic residues and energy are managed as interconnected resources, reducing freshwater demand and environmental impacts. We are seeking international partners with complementary expertisein advanced wastewater treatment, nature-based solutions, emerging contaminants, water monitoring and sensors, environmental risk assessment, modelling, LCA and agricultural water reuse. Partners with experimental sites, analytical platforms or pilot facilities are particularly welcome. Our team contributes expertise in agro-industrial residue valorization, biological processes, nutrient recovery, renewable energy, biofertilizers, analytical characterization and technology development from laboratory to pilot scale (TRL 4–7). We aim to build a multidisciplinary consortium for a competitive Water4All proposal.
