I am a researcher in freshwater ecology at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI). My research focuses on freshwater ecosystems, with expertise spanning fish ecology, evolutionary ecology, population genetics/genomics, trophic ecology and limnology. I am particularly interested in understanding how environmental change influences freshwater biodiversity and ecological processes across levels of biological organisation, from populations to food webs and whole-lake dynamics.

My current research includes studies of brown trout populations in perialpine lakes, climate effects on Arctic lake food webs, salmon migration and genomics in the UK, as well as limnological monitoring of Lake Lugano, Switzerland.

I am interested in joining a Water4All consortium investigating how freshwater ecosystems can be effectively monitored, restored and managed to enhance their resilience to climate change and other anthropogenic pressures. I am particularly interested in how these pressures affect fish populations and communities, habitat connectivity, trophic interactions, biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, and how ecological knowledge can support sustainable and adaptive water management.
My expertise is particularly relevant to Topic 1 (Integrated Monitoring and Assessment), Topic 2 (Nature-Based Approaches for Resilient Water Management) and Topic 4 (Resilient Water Systems through Systemic Change, Policy Coherence and Inclusive Governance).
I can contribute expertise in fish ecology, telemetry, population genetics/genomics, food-web ecology and limnology, including the assessment of ecological responses to environmental change, restoration and water-management interventions.
