I am a Senior Researcher-Teacher in Circular Water Technology at MNEXT, Avans University of Applied Sciences (the Netherlands). My expertise combines water and wastewater treatment and reuse; inclusive, safe, and sustainable sanitation; aerobic and anaerobic reactors; disinfection by-products; adsorption; microplastics; and the technical, environmental, economic, and social evaluation of water management systems.
I have over 10 years of academic and research experience in environmental engineering, water supply and sanitation, with a PhD in Water Resources and a postdoctoral position at IHE Delft. My research has addressed decentralized sanitation, citywide inclusive sanitation, resource recovery, decision-support tools, and the assessment of water and sanitation systems in different geographical and institutional contexts.
At MNEXT, I am developing research activities within the Circular Water Technology line, with an interest in membrane-based treatment, advanced wastewater treatment, water reuse, and the recovery and valorization of aqueous resource streams. I am particularly interested in integrating treatment technologies with system-level assessment to support safe and resource-efficient water reuse in industrial, agricultural, and other applications.

I am looking to join an international Water4All consortium. I am particularly interested in projects addressing advanced and membrane-based wastewater treatment; reusing treated wastewater for industrial and agricultural applications or hydrogen production; recovering valuable resources from aqueous streams; and improving water availability while reducing freshwater demand and environmental impacts.
As a potential partner, Avans University of Applied Sciences (MNEXT) could contribute expertise in advanced water and wastewater treatment and water quality assessment; integrating and evaluating treatment solutions; and the technical, environmental, and economic assessment of circular water systems. My background in sustainable sanitation, decision-support tools, and inclusive water management could also support the assessment of system performance, implementation pathways, and wider societal benefits. I would welcome opportunities to contribute to an existing project and help connect membrane-based treatment and water reuse technologies with broader strategies for safe water management.
