Associate Professor at the National Polytechnic University of Armenia, specializing in Environmental Protection, Sustainable Development, Energy Transition, and Critical Raw Materials.

My research and professional expertise cover renewable energy technologies, sustainable mining, environmental impact assessment, occupational health and safety (HSSE), and circular economy solutions.

Key areas of expertise: Critical Raw Materials, Sustainable Mining, Renewable Energy Transition, Environmental Management.

Recent research: Critical metals in Armenian geothermal waters, hydrometallurgical recycling of end-of-life electric vehicle batteries, and AI-based air quality monitoring and modelling. Development of innovative Lake Sevan water treatment and remediation technologies to address eutrophication, harmful algal blooms (lake greening), and nutrient pollution, contributing to the restoration of the lake’s ecological balance.

Ongoing projects: Horizon Europe STREACS (energy transition and climate solutions), establishment of a Critical Minerals Research and Innovation Laboratory at NPUA, and industrial renewable energy transition initiatives.
