Envirocentrum Banská Štiavnica is a Slovak environmental cluster operating nationwide and internationally through its WaterSlovakia initiative and partner network. It connects research and academic institutions, technology companies, public-sector organisations, municipalities and environmental organisations to advance water management, climate adaptation and environmental innovation.

Its members and partners bring expertise in hydrology, landscape ecology, GIS and modelling, environmental monitoring, water technology development, digital solutions and cybersecurity.

Envirocentrum contributes stakeholder engagement, assessment of user needs, identification and coordination of potential pilot sites, cooperation with water-sector organisations, capacity building, communication, dissemination and uptake of results. Research and technology development will be undertaken by relevant members and partners according to their expertise and agreed consortium roles.

WaterSlovakia supports the cluster’s smart water management and international cooperation activities. Access to pilot sites and specific technical tasks will be agreed during consortium development.

Envirocentrum Banská Štiavnica seeks to join an international Water4All 2026 consortium that connects research and innovation with practical water-management needs.

We welcome projects combining integrated monitoring and assessment, nature-based approaches, smart and adaptive water infrastructure, and inclusive governance. We are particularly interested in solutions that improve water retention and availability, support sustainable catchment management, modernise existing infrastructure and help water managers make informed decisions.

Our motivation is to connect the expertise of our members and partners with international research teams, support practical validation and facilitate the uptake of results in Slovakia and other countries.

We can contribute stakeholder engagement, assessment of user needs, identification of potential pilot sites, cooperation with municipalities and water-sector organisations, capacity building and dissemination. Depending on the project, relevant members and partners may also contribute research, modelling, monitoring and technology development.

We welcome collaboration with partners seeking to connect research and technology with practical needs, local stakeholders and the testing of solutions in real-world settings.
