a project to join
I am a behavioural scientist, and I co-lead the Water Efficiency Action, Research and Collaboration lab (Water Efficiency ARC) at University of Surrey. The work I lead focuses on understanding *how* people use water, as a means of informing our work to develop innovative, evidence-based methods to *change* water use behaviours. Our team has a wealth of experience across multiple behavioural science disciplines, including social, experimental and applied psychology, and computer science. We have skills and expertise in developing and applying sensor technology and biometric methods (eye-tracking, galvanic skin response, facial-expression analysis) to understand behaviour. We are proficient in quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods, with experience of experimental and survey design, data-driven interviewing and evidence synthesis. We conduct laboratory, field, and hybrid research across a host of real-world settings including homes, student accommodation, hotels, and healthcare facilities.
Topic 1. Integrated Monitoring and Assessment for Sustainable Water Management
Our mission is to better understand how people use water – and so help people to use less water in their everyday routines. We are keen to bring our behavioural science rigour, skills and knowledge to any project which seeks to promote water efficiency by changing how water is used, or how much water is used.
