At the Institute of Development Policy (IOB), University of Antwerp, we contribute social science expertise on community well-being, governance and sustainable resource management. Our areas of expertise include citizen science and community-based monitoring; inclusive governance and participation in decision-making; equity and gender; livelihoods, adaptation and resilience; and monitoring and evaluation.
Our experience includes community-based water monitoring in Tanzania, connecting local knowledge and citizen participation with accountability and public service delivery. We are interested in how community-generated evidence can inform water management policies and practices.
Topic 1. Integrated Monitoring and Assessment for Sustainable Water Management
Topic 4. Resilient Water Systems Through Systemic Change, Policy Coherence and Inclusive Governance
We are interested in joining a consortium preparing a proposal for the Water4All Joint Transnational Call on Sustainable Water Management.
We would particularly welcome collaboration with teams with technical expertise in water quality, water monitoring or water resource management that wish to integrate social and institutional dimensions into their research.
We can contribute to research on community participation, inclusive water governance, equitable access and benefit-sharing, and the use of citizen-generated evidence in decision-making. We are especially interested in projects connecting integrated monitoring and assessment with inclusive governance.
