OCEA Consult' is a consultancy firm specialising in ecology and engineering relating to tropical aquatic environments. Based in Réunion island, OCEA Consult' operates throughout the south-western Indian Ocean basin. OCEA Consult’ offers multidisciplinary expertise in the development, management and conservation of aquatic environments and coastal areas : - The Networks and Monitoring Division, focusing on freshwater and marine environments, water quality and biological components (invertebrates, fish); - Engineering Unit addressing issues relating to the management of aquatic environments, with a particular focus on conducting impact and regulatory assessments, or restoring ecological connectivity; - Research and Development Unit focused on techniques and methods for investigating the ecological functioning of aquatic environments, with a view to defining future standards for biological inventories and monitoring.

We are looking for a team of researchers with an interest in freshwater resources in island and/or tropical contexts, with expertise in hydrology and related new technologies. We will thus be able to contribute our expertise on the watercourses of Réunion and Mayotte (and other territories of interest in the SOOI region), addressing themes 1 and 4 : - Quantitative monitoring : gauging, habitat studies, characteristic flow rates - Biological monitoring : population surveys, monitoring of aquatic fauna migration, - Monitoring of physico-chemical parameters - Expertise in the socio-economics of aquatic resources - Assessments for the management of aquatic environments
