SCFF brings together expertise in hydrological and water-quality modelling, environmental monitoring, contaminant fate and transport, and environmental risk assessment. A key strength is the combination of modelling with field measurements and validation. SCFF can design and coordinate environmental sampling campaigns and analyse water, crops, soil and other environmental matrices, generating high-quality data for model parameterisation, calibration and independent validation. Our analytical infrastructure supports the measurement of PFAS, pesticides, proteins and genomic biomarkers, using advanced techniques including LC-MS/QTOF, qPCR, sequencing and metabolomics. Our sampling and laboratory infrastructure follows ISO standards. SCFF also has greenhouse facilities and expertise in plant and crop science, enabling controlled experiments on interactions between water quality, irrigation, contaminants, soil and crop production. Our multidisciplinary approach combines field monitoring, advanced laboratory analysis, modelling and controlled crop experiments to identify contamination sources, understand transport pathways and assess management options for sustainable agricultural water systems. SCFF has a strong network in the agricultural and horticultural sectors, supporting field implementation, demonstration and uptake of research results. SCFF has also been screened and accepted as a co-applicant for this call.
Topic 1. Integrated Monitoring and Assessment for Sustainable Water Management
Topic 2. Nature-Based Approaches for Resilient Water Management at Hydrological and Hydrogeological System Scale
We are interested in collaborative projects on Sustainable Water Management, particularly those combining water-quality monitoring, environmental modelling and preventive management strategies. We are interested in contributing expertise in contaminant monitoring and analysis and model validation using high-quality field data.
