a project to join
My expertise lies in nature conservation planning, landscape restoration and ecological connectivity. I work on developing restoration landscapes that connect biodiversity conservation with sustainable land and water management, translating ecological objectives into practical spatial planning and restoration concepts.
I bring a broad portfolio of experience across Austria, the wider EU, the United States, Asia and Africa. My approach combines cross-sector collaboration with interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary work, connecting research, planning, policy and practice.
I can contribute to identifying restoration priorities, strengthening habitat and ecological connectivity, and developing nature-based approaches at landscape and river-basin scales. A particular interest is linking the implementation of the EU Nature Restoration Regulation with freshwater and wetland restoration, water retention and climate resilience.
I offer access to case studies and links to teaching, creating opportunities for comparative analysis, knowledge exchange, student involvement and practice-oriented learning.
Topic 1. Integrated Monitoring and Assessment for Sustainable Water Management
Topic 2. Nature-Based Approaches for Resilient Water Management at Hydrological and Hydrogeological System Scale
Topic 4. Resilient Water Systems Through Systemic Change, Policy Coherence and Inclusive Governance
I am looking to join an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary consortium developing nature-based approaches to sustainable and resilient water management. I am particularly interested in restoration landscapes that integrate ecological connectivity, biodiversity conservation, water retention and the recovery of rivers, wetlands and their surrounding landscapes.
My contribution would connect research with practical conservation and restoration planning through cross-sector collaboration. This could include identifying spatial priorities, developing restoration concepts and translating findings into actionable recommendations. I am keen to explore synergies between the EU Nature Restoration Regulation and river-basin management.
Drawing on experience in Austria, the wider EU, the United States, Asia and Africa, I can bring comparative perspectives and access to case studies. Links to teaching offer opportunities to involve students, develop applied learning activities and support knowledge exchange between research and practice.
I welcome collaboration with researchers, public authorities, practitioners and local stakeholders to develop context-sensitive approaches with lasting benefits for biodiversity and water resilience.
