a project to join
Bilecik Seyh Edebali University presents an operational agricultural photovoltaic research pilot project in Türkiye that combines photovoltaic electricity generation, plant production, and sensor-based environmental monitoring. Our expertise encompasses agricultural photovoltaic systems, agricultural water management, soil moisture monitoring, solar energy systems, IoT sensing, field data collection, plant monitoring, and data-driven modeling. We have ongoing AI-based projects in agrivoltaics that analyze PV and inverter output, solar radiation, ambient and panel sub-temperature, soil moisture, irrigation, and crop yield. We can contribute to a Mediterranean/semi-arid pilot area, experimental design, sensor integration, comparative agricultural photovoltaic/open field trials, and validation of AI-based irrigation and digital twin solutions.
Topic 1. Integrated Monitoring and Assessment for Sustainable Water Management
Topic 3. Smart, Secure and Adaptive Water Infrastructures for Sustainable Water Management
We aim to join the Water4All 2026 consortium, which is funded for smart and climate-resilient agricultural water management. Our pilot project can be used to measure the effects of agricultural photovoltaic shading on soil moisture, irrigation demand, microclimate, plant growth, and renewable energy production. We can showcase real-world examples, provide multi-source time series and image datasets, and support the validation of smart irrigation, digital water twins, and decision support systems. We are particularly interested in consortia that combine water management, agricultural science, hydrological modeling, artificial intelligence, remote sensing, data interoperability, and stakeholder engagement. The pilot project is highly suitable for cross-country validation in Mediterranean and water-scarce agricultural environments.
