a project to join
We focus on applied research in environmental engineering, circular economy and sustainable water management. Our multidisciplinary team includes environmental and chemical engineers working on nature-based solutions (constructed wetlands) for wastewater treatment, composting, waste valorisation, and sustainable campus management.
Topic 1. Waterborne contaminants and health risks: occurrence, behaviour, interactions and vulnerability
Topic 2. Innovative Tools and Technologies for Water Quality and Exposure Monitoring
**NOTE: Our group can only participate in projects where the main topic of the proposal is either No. 1 or No. 2. Our group operates a pilot-scale plant that combines constructed wetlands and anaerobic digesters. The facility allows for full-scale experiments on treatment performance, contaminant removal, and validation of innovative sensors, monitoring tools, and hybrid treatment systems. Expertise related to Water4All - Urban and industrial wastewater treatment through constructed wetlands and anaerobic digesters. - Removal of both conventional pollutants (suspended solids, organic matter, nitrogen or phosphorus) and new pollutants (emerging organic pollutants, heavy metals, pathogenic microorganisms)
