We specialize in plasma-liquid interactions, with expertise in the diagnostics, kinetics, and mechanistic understanding of reactive species generated by non-thermal plasma in liquids and at gas-liquid interfaces. Our work addresses their role in the transformation of organic micropollutants and the inactivation of microorganisms in water. We utilize diverse plasma sources and advanced analytical techniques (LC-MS, HPLC, GC-MS, ion chromatography, FTIR, UV-Vis), enabling both fundamental insight and application-oriented studies.

We offer to strengthen Water4All project consortia by contributing our expertise and the CaviPlasma system - a novel advanced redox technology for water treatment developed with our partner, that integrates hydrodynamic cavitation with plasma discharge. This coupling generates a highly reactive environment in water, enabling simultaneous oxidative and reductive degradation pathways. The CaviPlasma system is capable of high treatment efficiency across a broad spectrum of contaminants and microorganisms and is designed for high-throughput operation (on the order of thousands of liters per hour), supporting scalable implementation in advanced (quaternary) water treatment.
