I’m a molecular parasitologist/disease ecologist, focusing on environmental monitoring and detection of schistosomes and related trematodes.
I have a PhD in environmental monitoring of Schistosoma spp. parasites in African freshwaters using eDNA and Fish Faecal Xenomonitoring (UCL, 2023). I’m currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Parasitological Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences and the Czech University of Life Sciences. My project focuses on environmental monitoring of schistosomes using environmental DNA and molecular identification of natural predators of schistosomes and their snail intermediate hosts.
I have experience with fieldwork in Sub-Saharan Africa, qPCR assay design and validation and molecular biology.
Other colleagues on the team can offer expertise in monitoring disease vectors and the pathogens they transmit, such as viruses, protozoa, and others.
Topic 1. Waterborne contaminants and health risks: occurrence, behaviour, interactions and vulnerability
Topic 2. Innovative Tools and Technologies for Water Quality and Exposure Monitoring
Water4All2025-204 FISH4HEALTH This project aligns very well with my long-term research interests. I can help with fieldwork (medical malacology, sample collection, fish dissections, eDNA collections), assay design, laboratory work and/or data analysis. Other members of our team have expertise in mosquito and other arthropod vector monitoring, as well as in the detection of pathogens transmitted by these vectors, such as WNV, malaria, Francisella, or others.
Water4All2025-24 CLEAR-STREAM I have experience with environmental surveillance of schistosomiasis in the field and fieldwork in general (Cameroon, Uganda, Costa Rica, Norway, and Czechia). I can help with fieldwork, eDNA collections and analysis, assay design and data analysis.
