Fluidion is a deep-tech company leveraging science and innovation to deliver disruptive technologies for environmental and water quality monitoring. We push the state of the art in technology, from highly-integrated microfluidics, to sensor-level integrated AI, to global connected Data Analytics. Our rapid microbiology instrumentation eliminates major limitations of today's standard techniques, enabling timely and effective monitoring of water quality in remote or inaccessible locations across the world, directly in the field, where laboratories are often unavailable.
We are developing not only new methodologies and instruments to automatically measure pathogens and fecal indicator bacteria (FIB), but also new science about water safety. For example, our instruments allowed the discovery of the critical role of FIB aggregated on fecal particles (https://doi.org/10.1093/jambio/lxae280), and we monitored their presence during the 2024 Olympics (https://fluidion.com/open-data-initiative/2024-seine-water-quality)

Fluidion has developed rapid microbiology monitoring solutions for quantitative measurements of fecal indicators (E. coli, coliforms, enterococci) in surface water, gray waters, water reuse, waste water and drinking water. These solutions provide automated capability and fully quantified responses in a few hours. They provide near real-time data about water safety, on connected cloud data analytics dashboards (also accessible through APIs). We are interested to deploy such technologies, adapt them to new contexts and develop new applications for monitoring water safety and measuring treatment effectiveness in diverse contexts, including for point-of-use and decentralized treatment solutions. We are also highly interested in projects that can generate impact in LMICs and underserved areas.
