I am a researcher in Environmental Bioresources and Bioremediation Technology, with expertise in innovative approaches like nanomaterials-assisted anaerobic bioprocesses and photocatalysis. My work includes studying electron transfer mechanisms in biodigesters, managing water treatment and resources valorisation, and developing analytical methods for monitoring micropollutants, all aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability.
Topic 1. Enhancement of water circularity in industries
Topic 3. Resource recovery and valorization
Our proposed project presents an innovative strategy that integrates advanced biological and physicochemical processes to address the removal and treatment of PFAS in wastewater and contaminated sewage sludge, while also focusing on resource recovery. The ability to effectively monitor PFAS and their by-products, both in initial wastewater and sludge samples and throughout the various treatment stages, is also a key component of this project. Therefore, the possibility of developing sensors to provide a faster response would be a valuable asset, especially for the implementation of the process at pilot and real-scale applications. We are actively seeking a partner with specialized knowledge in this area.
