Our research group focusses on electrochemical processes for the treatment of effluents and the recovery of resources. We have broad experience in electromembrane processes and electrochemical advanced oxidation processes.
Topic 1. Enhancement of water circularity in industries
Topic 3. Resource recovery and valorization
Our project aims at developing a new process scheme for the recovery of nutrients from different streams of WWTPs. The resource recovery line would require from different processes aimed at concentrating/separating nutrients without addition of reagents and producing water free of micropollutants fit for reuse for different purposes. Electromembrane and pressure-driven membrane processes, and electrooxidation are included in the process. We search partners with expertise in other processes that could complement our concept for specific streams: - Removal of micropollutants in low salinity streams (e.g. ozonation, adsorption) - Crystalization/precipitation of nutrient concentrates - Membrane processes (FO, NF)
