There are inorganic and organic components in flotation process water. These components may be harmful for flotation and requires special treatment methods. Our team has an extensive expertise and understanding for these type of components and their effects on flotation. Our research focuses on the determination of the impact of the water constituents on the flotation efficiency and restore the efficiency by removing detrimental components. For this purpose, we develop novel water treatment technologies and integrate to plant by pilot scale applications. We accomplished several research projects and had a patent from the last research projects funded by EU Horizon 2020. The innovations were endorsed by the European Commission and included in the European Union Innovation Radar.
Topic 1. Enhancement of water circularity in industries
Topic 4. Economic, environmental and social implications of water reuse and recovered products
-experimental studies involve sampling and measurement surveys in industrial plants and laboratory scale fundamental studies. -monitoring of flotation plant process water matrix -determination of detrimental ions on flotation efficiency -enhancement of water reuse in flotation plants -development of wastewater treatment technologies including novel electrochemical water treatment methods, as well as conventional treatment methods such as ion exchange, adsorption, precipitation, and chemical oxidation -determination of the appropriate measurements and sampling schemes for online analysis -development of ion selective probes -determining the water chemistry that results from mineral dissolution under different pulp conditions.
