a project to join
The Laboratory of Environmental Technology is an expert in advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) with established international reputation. The break-through technology developed by the Laboratory is the pulsed corona discharge (PCD) plasma application to water treatment, demonstrating the unequalled energy efficiency attributable to AOPs currently known. The approach is offered for aqueous media of wide range of conductivity (reliability of the equipment is a patented feature of the technology approach) and air treatment showing the highest energy efficiency ever reported for the electric discharges. Looking for a project covering water circularity and resource recovery and valorization. PCD showed the ability to clean the recycling water in a building from urobilin, to effectively remove micropollutants from various water matrices, including urine. Energy efficiency in microbial control is also impressive: only 20 to 50 Wh per m3 are sufficient for water sterilization.
Topic 1. Enhancement of water circularity in industries
Topic 2. Urban water circularity
Topic 3. Resource recovery and valorization
Water treatment for its energy efficient disinfection
Wastewater recycling using an energy-efficient technology of its purification (oxidation of organic compounds)
Nutrient recovery from urine (selective oxidation of micropollutants)
Tertiary treatment of municipal wastewater targeting its recycling in irrigation or other water supply
water, plasma, ozone, urine, advanced oxidation, nutrients, wastewater, potable water, recycling water, micropollutants
