I am working on assessment of the environmental fate and hazard of chemicals including : - (eco)toxicity (standard aquatic tests with green algae, Daphnia magna, Vibrio fischeri but I also develop no standard tests) - bioaccumulation (in invertebrate animals and plants, also using models based on partitionig properties or QSAR) - biodegradability (ultimate and primary, identification of transformaiton products using high-resolution LC-MS/MS) - partitioning to various phases (lipids, protiens, natural roganic matter, soil, activated sludge) - mobility in soils and sediments. I have experience in working with large spectrum of compounds (polar to nonpolar) and I have methods for their detection and quantificaiton.
Topic 4. Economic, environmental and social implications of water reuse and recovered products
I am interested in joining projects dealing with: - assesment of hazard of (potential) pollutants or their transformaiton products - impacts of changing water physicochemical parameters (natural organic matter content and character, salinity, temperature etc.) on water quality, fate of pollutants and challeneges in drinking/industrail water production - investigating effectivenes of various water treatment methods - quantitaive and qualitative analysis of pollutants and transformaiton products, assessment of environmntal hazards of treated water
