I have experience in the area of Limnology, with emphasis on the Ecology of Benthic Invertebrates and the Processing of Organic Matter in streams, working mainly on the following subjects: benthic macroinvertebrate communities, leaf litter decomposition, the behavior of invertebrate shredders, and bioindicators of water quality. I am a professor at the University of Vila Velha (SE Brazil), where I lead the Laboratory of Aquatic Insect Ecology and supervise ungraduated students in Biological Sciences and MasterĀ“s and PhD candidates in the Graduate Program in Plant Biotechnology.
Topic 1. Mapping, monitoring, and assessment for a better understanding of ecosystem services in a context of changes, from local to global change.
Topic 2. Understanding and predicting multiple pressures (including anthropogenic pressures) - impact - response relationships in ecosystem services through advanced methods and techniques.
I want to join any project that plans to evaluate the effects of emerging contaminants, land use, and climate change on biodiversity, ecosystem functioning, and ecosystem services in streams and rivers.
