I am working on determining the water and sediment quality of freshwater ecosystems. I evaluate the data I obtain using multivariate statistical methods and various water and sediment quality indices. In recent years, I have particularly concentrated on research on the evaluation of the ecological and health risks of heavy metals in water, sediment and fish. I also have studies on the environmental impacts of fish farms and CO2 emissions from rivers and reservoirs. I consider myself lucky in terms of the richness and importance of the study areas, as the university where I work is located in a province between the Euphrates and Tigris basins. In addition to the issues I mentioned above, I plan to conduct studies on organic pollutants and microplastic pollution in these basins.
