a project to join
C3 International provides applied marine science, conservation planning and field implementation expertise across Europe, the Pacific, Southeast Asia, the Red Sea and Western Indian Ocean. Our work focuses on marine protected area effectiveness, coral reef and coastal habitat monitoring, sustainable small-scale fisheries, blue carbon, biodiversity assessment and community-based coastal resilience.
We combine conventional ecological surveys with eDNA, underwater imagery, hydroacoustics, drones, remote sensing and community-generated data, translating research into practical management, monitoring and investment-ready interventions. Current work includes developing standardised biodiversity monitoring protocols for 10 locally managed marine areas in Fiji, supporting Indigenous coral reef stewardship research for UNEP, and designing fisheries, habitat and megafauna monitoring programmes in the Red Sea and Indo-Pacific.
Keywords: MPA effectiveness; marine biodiversity monitoring; sustainable fisheries; blue carbon and coastal resilience.
PA2 - Managing sea-uses by advancing digital and ecosystem-based approaches
PA3 - Promoting sustainable blue bioresources through innovation in marine production and harvesting
PA4 - Building resilience in coastal communities with infrastructure and businesses
C3 International is seeking to join a transnational, European-led project under PA2, PA3 or PA4, particularly one focused on marine protected area effectiveness, ecosystem-based marine management, biodiversity and habitat monitoring, sustainable small-scale fisheries, blue carbon, or coastal community resilience.
We are especially interested in projects combining digital and field-based approaches, including eDNA, underwater imagery, hydroacoustics, drones, remote sensing, GIS and community-generated data. C3 can contribute applied technical expertise, monitoring protocol design, capacity building, stakeholder engagement and access to established field programmes and demonstration sites in the Pacific, Southeast Asia, the Red Sea and Western Indian Ocean. We would welcome projects that test approaches across European sea basins and explore their replication or transfer to tropical and small-island contexts.
