Expolab - Ciência Viva Science Centre is located in São Miguel Island, Archipelago of the Azores. It is managed by Sociedade Afonso Chaves, a non-profit organization with public utility status. The Centre integrates the Azorean Science Centres Network (RECCA) and is also part of the national Ciência Viva Science Centres Network, both of them operating in close collaboration with schools, universities and local authorities. Its mission is to promote an active citizenship based on scientific knowledge in the many fields of Natural Sciences and Technology (including ocean literacy). Expolab has large experience in the implementation of non-formal education activities within schools, and in promotion of networking between schools/local communities/CSO’s, having multiple partnerships with distinct stakeholders. Furthermore, the Centre has a consolidate position in the local community, having established protocols with several public bodies. Along the years, Expolab as implemented, conducted and co designed, in partnership with different institutions and stakeholders, several activities in the many fields of science, technology and digital competences. Expolab could help in dialogue, reach-out, and increase visibility of the actions/plans, needed for the outreach and dissemination activities of a future project under the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership call.
