Assistant Researcher in the Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre (MARE) at Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Portugal. Currently, I conduct research on low trophic aquaculture, nutrition and natural based solutions to develop shellfish and echinoderms aquaculture. I have special interest into develop sustainable feeds for low trophic marine invertebrates that promotes the quality of end-product and/or improves their resilience to near future climate change. I am member of the Aquaculture and Marine Resources Sustainability Research Group within the Aquaculture and Fisheries thematic line of MARE (https://www.mare-centre.pt/en ), at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria. With a dedicated team of around 20 senior and post-doctoral researchers, plus PhD students, the AquaMARE research group addresses distinct research areas, including aquaculture for restocking or ornamental purposes, marine ecology, nutrition, reproduction, animal welfare, development, and characterization of new diets, new products, or innovative compounds for diverse Blue Economy Industries.
