Sustainable Blue Call 2024 on "Unified Paths to Climate-Neutral, Sustainable, and Resilient Blue Economy: Engaging Civil Society, Academia, Policy, and Industry"
-->Brief introduction: I am a nutritional physiologist, and my current research focuses on identifying, characterizing, and utilizing novel and alternative sources of feed and food. In particular, I aim to evaluate and characterize a wide range of insect species as a future protein source for animal feed and human food applications. Moreover, my research is also focused on evaluating the nutritional and bioactive potential of marine macroalgae and fresh-water macrophytes. I have published 30 scientific articles and presented at 30 international conferences, seminars, and symposiums. I have supervised two post-doctoral researchers, 9 Ph.D. students (including ongoing), and 10 master (including ongoing), and 4 bachelor students. I teach various subjects within sustainable animal nutrition to graduate and undergraduate students. I am the principal investigator of a collaborative project: Establishing the Circular Economy-based livestock sector through collaborative Educational and Research activities (CEER).
