Sustainable Blue Call 2024 on "Unified Paths to Climate-Neutral, Sustainable, and Resilient Blue Economy: Engaging Civil Society, Academia, Policy, and Industry"
We do research on organic residues as fertilisers. We have investigated e.g. the fertiliser effect of fish sludge, a residue from aquaculture. We are currently also investigating sludge from shrimp cultivation, and we could also assess fertiliser effects of e.g. seaweed por residues left after processing various resources to take out valuable products. We have previously mostly assessed fertiliser effect, but we can now also assess greenhouse gas and ammonia emissions when using these substances as fertilisers.
PA4 - Blue Bioresources
We can participate in any project where the use of some residue as fertiliser on land is part of the project. This could be a small or large part, e.g. it could be the main topic of the the project, or it could be small part, e.g. using the residues left after other processing. Most projects where marine resources are valorised will end up with some residue, most residues can be used as fertilisers or soil improvers. We are currently involved in project H2020 project SEA2LAND and BlueBIO project BIORAS_Shrimp.
