Kelp Forest Foundation is a Netherlands-registered non-profit aimed at addressing the gaps in science and knowledge around giant kelp forests' ecosystem services and cultivated giant kelp.

We are looking for project partners to support us in researching the potential of giant kelp (Macrocystis pyrifera) products to:
- Improve animal/fish health, gut health, nutrition
- Provide a sustainable protein source in animal feed and fish feed
- Understand the anti-flammatory and anticarcinogenic compounds in Macrocystis pyrifera

PA4 - Green transition of Blue Food production

We aim to establish a consortium that will work together on researching/trialling giant kelp in animal and fish feed to improve animal/fish health, gut health, substitute protein in feed, and to research the nutritional/pharmaceutical values of giant kelp compounds.

We are looking for research partners (universities, research institutions) with the knowledge and capabilities to analyse and test Macrocystis pyrifera (giant kelp) samples to answer these research questions.
