Our lab was established in 2021 at the Istanbul University and supports a multidisciplinary and highly skilled team that works at the interface of biotechnology, biology, biomedical engineering and materials science. The goal of our research group is to develop novel biomaterials (scaffolds, nano/microparticles) based on natural polymers for different applications. This is accomplished by developing a ZERO-WASTE production system with several green technology processing methods, allowing for the fabrication of highly functional natural-derived biomaterials. Our research group is supported by multiple grants from the National Funding Agencies and European innovation agencies (EIT).
PA4 - Green transition of Blue Food production
We are opening to help overcome decreasing waste from marine source consumption and demonstrate an alternative way for non-consumed invasive marine species by new prototypes and processes considering food and health industries. We would like to contribute to the development of the next generation of blue raw materials and provide opportunities for a sustainable system for the blue economy.
