Our research has been focused in recent years on the study of diverse microorganisms from different environments such as sea water and sediments, soil, waste water, looking for specific biotechnological use. Starting from the isolation and taxonomic identification through genomic studies, we obtained bacterial strains capable of degrading different polluting compounds, but also bacterial strains capable of producing polyhydroxyalkanoate-type polymers or other biocompounds with biomedical value. On the other hand we are interested also in microbial communities dynamics of specific environments in relation with electricity production or specific soil or sediments characteristics in the global environmental changes context.

We gladly join a project regarding use of microbial factories for biotechnological applications, using second generation biomass.
