a project to join
I am an Animal Scientist from Nigeria; I have previously worked on the antioxidant efficacy of marine microalgae in rabbit models. I am interested in joining a project consortium that aims to explore the food and feed usefulness of both microalgae and macroalgae under the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership of Horizon Europe. With my expertise and prior research on microalgae, I believe I can make a valuable contribution to a consortium that shares similar interests and goals. I am passionate about advancing the sustainable use of aquatic resources and I am excited about the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations to achieve this common goal.
PA1 - Planning and managing sea uses at the regional level
PA2 - Development of offshore marine multi-use infrastructures to support the blue economy
PA3 - Climate-neutral, environmentally sustainable and resource-efficient blue food and feed
PA4 - Green transition of Blue Food production
1. Exploring the nutritional benefits of seaweeds as highly nutritious resources, containing a range of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, good source of iodine important for thyroid function, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties.

2. Exploration of seaweeds for improving animal health: The use of seaweeds for a wide range of health benefits for animals, including improving gut health and reducing the risk of certain diseases, improved animal performance and productivity.

3. Exploration of seaweeds for reducing methane emissions: Seaweeds contain compounds that can reduce methane emissions from ruminant animals, such as cows and sheep, which can help to mitigate the impact of livestock on climate change.
