a project to join
I am an environmental focused political/economic geographer with research focus on sustainable governance. My expertise lies in the study of socio-spatial process of bioeconomy entrepreneurship, policy creation and implementation, sector development and their relations to their host localities. Having worked long with forest based bioeconomy developments, my current focus is on seaweed farming in Norway and recirculating aquaculture in Finland where I study both sectors development trough entrepreneur and stakeholder perspectives as well as qualitative policy analysis. I have further expertise in studying the role of policy narratives and the creation of public imaginaries that guide public and sector perception on development and are an important part of blue governance. In both sectors I have collected wide range of empirical data and first papers (e.g. Albrecht & Lukkarinen 2020) have been published. Both sectors are of key importance in the policy strategies for a blue bioeconomy development in EU strategy in the food and feed sectors and beyond.

Keywords: Socio-spatial in-depth analysis of economic development, blue bioeconomy governance, policy narratives & governance, Seaweed, RAS
PA3 - Climate-neutral, environmentally sustainable and resource-efficient blue food and feed
PA4 - Green transition of Blue Food production
Topic of the project I would like to join could be aligned with novel blue bioeconomy sector development (focus on food and feed) and the social, economic and bio-physical processes that enable or hinder these developments. While my geographical approach allows me to be very flexible to what kind of sectors or types of developments it is applied I am personally interested in the potentials for small scale decentralized development potentials and bottlenecks for a sustainable and just food production in Europe. However, these suggestions are not a restricting aspect and I am very open to all kind of suggestions that could benefit from a strong and in-depth social scientific perspective.
