The Aquaculture research Group of the ECOAQUA institute of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, has a long-term involvement in aquaculture research projects at international level providing worldwide research development in the subjects of hatchery, nursery and grow out production. More specifically a research line is focusing on the production of new species that can be grown in Integrated multitrophic Aquaculture systems that foster sustainable practices and production and promote the development of new feed or food products. The aim of Integrated Multitrophic aquaculture is to foster the adoption of profitable, environmentally sound, and socially integrated aquaculture systems contributing to reduce aquaculture impact on the environment. Experience on IMTA development and the production of abalone, sea cucumbers, microalgae, macroalgae and happy to join projects that would require this expertise.
